Decathlon

Decathlon is a global sporting goods chain store of French origin, with stores located throughout the world. I like this shop because I love sport.

This store is distributed by sports sections: running, cycling... It is very handy because if you want to buy a specific thing, you will know where you have to go. Another thing I like of Decathlon is that you can test the gym machines and it is very fun. The clothes they sell are very comfortable and durable; you can find the right garment for each activity.

If you like doing sport, your favourite shop has to be Decathlon; you’ll enjoy shopping there.

Boarding schools

Boarding schools are very common in some countries. However, there are both positive and negative aspects of these schools.

On the one hand, some people believe that their child is more controlled and they learn more on boarding schools. Another reason for boarding schools is that children study in a best environment.

On the other hand, other people think that children have to stay with their parents during the school year. It is clear that children need their parents when they are young. Another argument is that young children need freedom and in boarding schools they don't have enough.

To conclude, although boarding schools can be good for some children, I think that most of them are too strict.

The ancient tarraco

If I could get a glimpse of life as it was in the past, I would like to experience it in the ancient Tarraco.
Tarragona is a city where I have gone lots of times since I was a child and I love it. I like the roman history too and the roman city of Tarraco was the most importan city of the Roman Emire. The experience of walking between the Roman circus and the amphitheatre must be amazing.

I think that lots of people would like to walk through the streets of the ancient Tarraco and if it could be possible people would learn to value the history.

The gap year

A gap year is a sabbatical year that students take between the high school and the university. In my opinion, that year enriches students as a person in many aspects of their life.

In the gap year, students can travel discovering the world and learning different cultures and lifestyles. It is true that some students use their gap year going to parties and beaches but much of the students use it to search a job or do voluntary work. Those people use their gap year to live responsibly and independently.

In conclusion, a gap year helps young people to understand life although some people use it to relax and do nothing.

The climate change

The climate change is a problem that affects all over the world. We should be aware that we have to improve the conditions of our planet. Formerly, we had got four seasons: winter, spring, summer and autumn; but nowadays we only have two: winter and summer. It was an effect of the climate change in our country.

On the one hand, I think that in our country we can slow down the effects of climate changing some of our habits. One measure should be that the government introduced some new laws to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions, like forcing people to use public transport to go to work or  to study.

On the other hand, in my opinion, people in our country are not aware of the dangers of this phenomenon and some measures would be accepted by a small part of the population.

The climate change has been caused by us and it is irreversible. We have to suffer all the consequences and receive all the hurts that we have caused to our planet.

How can we encourage people to do more sports?

Nowadays, some people usually go to work by car, spend afternoons on the sofa and never do sport. These people need to be encouraged to do exercise.

I think that to encourage people to do more sports, people who like doing physical activities should create music festivals where people could practice different sports in order to find their favourite sport. Other things to encourage people would be to do conferences to explain lazy people the advantages of sport and lower the price of the gyms.

It is true that sport should be practised by everyone but it isn’t like that. For this reason, people who love sport have to give our sporty spirit to other people. 

Describing a person

My dad David is really important to my family. We have a good relationship and I always have fun with him, he is a good fun.

My dad is tallish, slim and broad-shouldered like me. He is dark-skinned and he has dark and wavy hair. He is very intelligent and he always helps me when I have a problem with my homework. My dad is usually easy-going and warm-hearted but sometimes he can be a bit serious. He is very interested in politics, history and philosophy but his main interest is organic farming.

My dad is the best dad in the world!

“I hate travelling, I like to spend my holidays in one place.” Write an essay saying if you agree with this opinion.

“I love travelling and I like spending my holidays in many places.” It will be the correct sentence for me because I always travel in holidays. I like visiting small towns and big cities and I usually travel to countries where people have different customs and traditions. Every summer, I travel to different countries and I endure going by plane, train or car to discover new worlds. I believe that travelling is the best way to learn languages and to be more respectful with other cultures. I also think that travelling is a good way to grow up intellectually and mentally.

Is it possible to live without computers nowadays?

Nowadays, computers are essentials for work in lots of jobs. People use computers all day to communicate, study and work. However, I think that there are alternatives to computers.

Firstly, I’m sure that people in rich countries want to work hard to receive money, so lots of them have to use computers to work. In poor countries it doesn’t happen because they don’t need computers in their jobs.

Secondly, in my opinion, we need computers to communicate with people all over the world because nowadays people travel a lot.

In conclusion, in poor countries people already live without computers because they don’t need it or they can’t have it. But in rich countries, people can’t live without their jobs and their communication with friends all over the world.
